Evil Rick was the secondary antagonist of Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind.
Almost nothing is known about Evil Rick's true personality or intentions. According to Roiland and Harmon, Evil Rick was a real Rick with cybernetic implants (as opposed to a full robot), and none of his actions were carried out at his own will; they were all Evil Morty's doing. Evil Morty had been torturing all captured Mortys through Evil Rick in order to create hatred towards all Ricks.
Evil Rick looked identical to most Ricks, except that his shirt was black instead of light blue, his eyes had dark circles underneath, and his lips had a scar going across it.
Towards the end of Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind, the Mortys broke free. Having grown tired of Evil Rick, they all barraged and over-powered him. Their anger and frustration got to the point that they kept beating his corpse until the alternate Ricks came to calm the Mortys down. After his death, the members of the Council of Ricks opened his head, and discovered sophisticated robotics which lead them to believe that he was being remotely controlled. Unbeknownst to them, the receiver that controlled him was linked to a transmitter inside Evil Morty's eyepatch. This also reveals to the audience, but not the Council of Ricks, that Evil Morty had been literally using Evil Rick.
- It's currently unknown if Evil Rick's (by extension Evil Morty's) true intentions were to overthrow the Council of Ricks or why he needed Rick C-137's memories.
- It's possible his body is still being controlled be Evil Morty given that at the end of "Tales From The Citadel", there was a photo of him and another controllable Rick, wearing his campaign suit.
